We will ride the train to downtown LA, hop on the subway and then take a 90-minute walking tour of 100 years of skyscraper evolution. We’ll explore Bunker Hill’s great buildings, see the tallest building on the West Coast, have lunch at Grand Central Market, and do some shopping at Olvera Street. This is a unique way to see Los Angeles and learn about that most iconic of America’s buildings – the skyscraper. Tour price includes round trip business-class train ticket to downtown. We’ll trace the footsteps of one of LA’s most famous preservationists and renaissance men – writer, anthropologist, editor, librarian and adventurer. We’ll start in his iconic arroyo-stone home – El Alisal – in the Arroyo Seco, visit LA’s oldest museum (the Southwest Museum) and then head over to the Autry Museum of the West for lunch and to enjoy its Native American exhibits. A real California history day!
We’ll sample some of the finest wines in Temecula Valley. Lunch, tastings and a tour at Thorton Winery will be followed by a visit to Callaway Winery – well-know for its beautiful views and gorgeous facility. The third tasting is on your own at Danza Del Sol Winery where the variety of reds and whites will delight your palate. You’ll learn a lot about wine and have a great day exploring the valley. We’ll enjoy the desert flowers during five stops in Joshua Tree National Park: Skull Rock, Hidden Valley, Cap Rock, Keys View and the Oasis of Mara. Learn all about the desert flora and fauna in one fun-filled day. All from the comfort of a Hoffy Tour recliner bus.
We’ll explore Little Saigon with tea tasting, a specialty supermarket and a visit to a beautiful Buddhist Temple. Then, we’ll savor the California Scene Painting collection at the Hilbert Museum. Lunch on your own at the rocking’ Anaheim Packing District. In the afternoon, we’ll enjoy a tour of the Old County Courthouse as we learn stories of the birth of our county. On the way home, we’ll do some fabulous bird watching at the San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary with a bird expert and biologist. What a day to savor!
